GET TO KNOW | Our New Multi-site Retail Manager
This week we sat down and caught up with the newest addition to the Marlow family, Cat. She has had extensive experience within the retail industry and is taking on the exciting role of our new Multi-site Manager. We are absolutely thrilled to have her on board, so have a read through to get to know a little bit about Cat.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background/career?
I have been in the industry whether it be hair makeup or fashion for the last 27 years. I feel that my two previous careers have helped me in my styling as it gives me more understanding of colour and shape and what suits a client. I have a strong love for the fashion industry and can’t image doing anything else! My customers are like my friends and I have developed a lot of close relationships over the years working with different companies. I am very much looking forward to doing the same with Marlow!
I am a mother of one beautiful 8 year old boy, he keeps me on my toes but keeps me groundedl! When you have kids it does make you want to strive harder for what you really want in life, just so they will have a good start. They can also see working hard is how you get what you want!
What is your role at Marlow and what are you most looking forward to?
My role at Marlow is multi site manager.
I am most looking forward to building the Marlow brand within the stores and empowering the team to strive to do their best in a positive working environment. Also, to build up our customer base and meet all our top VIPs.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
My hobbies outside of work are keeping active by working out at the gym and spending time making movies on the iPad with my son Carlos. He likes to set up his toys around the house and film everything. I can see an expensive passion coming on for him - photographer or videographer and film maker.
How would you describe your style? Do you have a style icon?
My style icon would have to be Anine Bing.
She has a effortless sense of style that any age can relate to. Her casual chic style is what I am all about. The T- shirt, blazer and jeans with a boot, trainer or the long line skirt with a t- shirt / boots and a denim jacket is my go-to, so easy to wear!
What is your favourite Marlow outfit?
My favourite Marlow outfit would be the Mini Rib Active Split Legging in black and the Point Mesh Hoodie in black, which I pair with white trainers. It’s a super comfortable outfit and I love the mesh detail in the hoodie that adds a bit of edge to the outfit. In terms of functionality it's great for a working mum that is always out and about during the day!
What do you enjoy most about working in retail?
The best thing about working in retail is definitely the relationships you build and making someone feel a million dollars walking out the store. Also giving them the tools to recreate that at home themselves - so rewarding!
