COMMUNITY OF MARLOW | Rosie Houghton

Welcome to our first 'Community of Marlow' blog - a series where we sit down with our customers, to get to know a little bit about them and how Marlow fits into their lives. This week, we had the pleasure of chatting to Rosie Houghton who is based in Takapuna, Auckland.
Tell us a little bit about yourself
I’m 61 years old lol, I am active in that I go to the gym, walk and I also compete in the Stand-up Paddleboard racing here in NZ. I was recently at the NZ Nationals, a couple of weeks ago and I got 10th overall women. In the age group divisions I was 1st in the  women over 60-year-old and 3rd over 50-year-old. I raced in 200m2 sprints, technical racing, which is racing around buoys in a circuit and distance; racing 8kms.
I’ve worked for AIRNZ as a cabin crew internationally, I set up a café here in Takapuna and in the Countdown supermarket. I worked as manager for the Serville Hilton Spa when it was owned by Paul Serville. I went into Real estate around 13 years ago approx. and currently sell real estate with a friend and business associate here in Takapuna for Harcourts Cooper&Co. I am married to Gavin Houghton (business owner) and we have a son Ollie Houghton who after going to university and working for a year is currently competing overseas on world SUP circuit. Hes just left on his big OE. We also have a dog who is called Spud.
What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting people; Real estate is like almost being a councilor to people as well as getting them to where they want to be. I love the people I work with. I also love the service aspect of my job which is helping people and their real estate needs, getting them a great result, and managing the process so that its not stressful for my clients.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
We are currently building in Raglan, but I like walking (as can’t run anymore) biking, going to the beach, catching up with husband, friends and family, dinners out, entertaining at home, exercising, although I’m much more moderate in my exercise routine than I used to be and of course travelling - we love to travel.
How does Marlow suit your lifestyle?
I like the fact Marlow is a NZ brand, I like the way the clothes fit. I wish I could buy more ha-ha. I really like the casual design Marlow have and muted colour range so you can mix and match and casual clothes are what I reach for after hours and weekends when I get home.
What is on your Marlow wish list?
I love too many items to pick. I really love the coordinated loungewear and active wear. But I also like the new Aurora Cargo Pant. We are about to head to Europe so I'll be looking to get comfortable clothes to travel in.
You can shop all Rosie's looks in store or online now.
