Leather Care Guide
CARING FOR YOUR LEATHER FOOTWEAR & ACCESSORIES
Leather is known for its lasting quality, rich character, and effortless style. As it softens and ages, it only gets better with time. With regular care, your leather pieces will stay timeless for years to come.
To care for your leather products, we recommend the following care:
We recommend applying a protective spray before use and reapplying regularly to add a light protective barrier to the leather.
To help maintain the quality of the leather, we recommend using a leather conditioner every few weeks - this will keep the leather clean, hydrated and soft.
Avoid contact with water, but if it does become wet, blot immediately with a soft cloth and let it dry naturally. Do not use artificial heat on your leather products, and keep them out of direct sunlight to avoid fading.
We recommend rotating your leather shoes to allow them to dry out between wears.
To keep your Marlow leather accessories in the best condition, we recommend storing them in the dust bag provided when not in use. This helps protect it from dust, marks, and scratches that can occur during storage.
Please note: Natural markings and variations in the leather are not considered faults, but rather a reflection of its unique character and craftsmanship. We are not liable for any wear or abrasion that may occur through regular use.
LEATHER SOLES
Leather soles are a traditional and luxurious feature of handcrafted footwear. Over time, leather soles mould to the shape of the foot, providing a more comfortable fit with wear. Due to the natural properties of leather, leather soles require upkeep to ensure longevity.
Avoid wearing leather-soled shoes in wet weather. If they do get wet, dry them naturally away from direct heat.
We suggest taking your shoes to a trusted cobbler to have a thin rubber sole attached. This will protect the sole against wear and moisture and prolong the lifespan of your shoes. This can be replaced as required over time.
