Design, Development and Sourcing Specialist - Head office 

Role definition

The primary purpose of this role is working across the Design, Production and Sourcing departments.

This role will encompass researching and graphically designing all product ranges, sourcing and supporting to manufacture the goods.

Being a small team, working cross functionality across all areas is key as we grow.


1. Design:

  • Track closely emerging trends, new styles and prepare seasonal mood boards for trend presentations to directors
  • Design styles/collections that are on brand and within margin requirements.
  • Develop updates to existing essential or core product ranges.
  • Be a key part in the creative direction of the brand.
  • Provide design files and tech packs ready and spec’d for production.
  • Monitor and research local and international competition.
  • Work closely with the Directors to understand best and worst sellers and provide recommendations or improvements to drive sales.

2. Sourcing:

  • Support Garment Tech/Directors with sourcing new fabrics, yarns and any trims.
  • Help to source new factories that meet the company policies around ethics, sustainability and standards. 
  • Maintain great relationships with suppliers; negotiate costing on fabric and samples to ensure gross profit margin is maintained.

3. Development:

  • Monitor closely the critical path deadlines and ensure you meet design and sample deadlines.
  • Generate samples that are within brief, budget and reflect the brands identity at key price points.
  • Full understanding of fits and garment specifications required, with the ability to create and amend tech packs.
  • Support Directors to research new fabrics trends, techniques and technology for the activewear industry.

Production Manager - Head office

This is a newly created role, we are on the hunt for a production expert to manage all our offshore production.  A big focus of this role will be on sourcing and fabric development. We are a small dynamic and high performing team and we look forward to finding the right person. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Building strong supplier relationships - we have fantastic supplier relationships so its essential we continue to develop these relationships.
  • Managing each step of the production process - from fabric sourcing right through to delivery in to warehouse.
  • Negotiating cost prices to achieve our margin targets
  • Managing the critical path
  • Logistics and freight booking and costings
  • As we are a new brand systemisation is key and improving the end to end production process.

Skills required:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience with offshore manufacturing
  • Great understanding of fabrics and garment construction
  • Excellent communicator, both written & verbal
  • Proactive, forward thinking and able to think outside of the box
  • Adopts an innovative & creative approach to problem solving
  • Strong organisational skills to effectively manage time, prioritise and manage multiple tasks while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Detail-focused and process driven
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and works well under pressure.
  • Passionate about sustainability - this is very important to us! 

This position is based in our Auckland Head Office, we are open to people wanting to work part time or full time hours.
